Presenter (Dr. Alice MacGillivray)
Alice MacGillivray's consulting work and research focus on leadership and learning in complex, knowledge-intensive environments. She has researched communities of practice, informal learning, work with boundaries, and the relationships between leadership and complexity theory. Alice has published over fifteen peer-reviewed chapters and journal articles in publications such as The Learning Organization, Emergence: Complexity and Organization, and Challenging Organisations and Society: reflective hybrids(r). She has spoken at international conferences including AACE E-Learn, the International Society for the Systems Sciences and the Society for the Social Studies of Science. Alice sits on the editorial board of the International Journal of Complexity in Leadership and Management. Her PhD is in Human and Organizational Systems with a concentration in Media, Technology, and Innovation. She is an associate faculty member with Royal Roads University.
