The purpose of this session is to explore the nature and practice of mindfulness and how it directly connects with effective leadership. Sharing academic knowledge, experiential activities and group inquiry, mindfulness in leadership will be revealed through the integration of science, psychology, nature, and traditional ways of knowing.  

Mindfulness is currently a corporate buzzword that is widely used, and often misunderstood. The purpose of this session is to explore the nature and practice of mindfulness and how it directly connects with effective leadership. A mindful leader embodies presence by cultivating the qualities of focus, awareness, responsiveness, compassion, insight, and creativity in the service of others. An effective leader brings mindfulness to both their work and interactions with others. Through presence, a mindful leader is able to support others in identifying and moving towards a better future state.

Sharing current academic knowledge, experiential activities and group inquiry, mindfulness in leadership will be revealed through the integration of science, psychology, nature, and traditional ways of knowing. Topics to be covered in this session include:

  • Moving from distraction to focus, presence & productivity
  • Shift from reactivity to responsiveness & accountability
  • Repair fragmentation to build harmony & interconnectedness
  • Transform from stagnancy to innovation & adaptability
