Keynote Speaker, Julian Norris

Julian is a perennially curious guide and educator who has spent much of his life learning what it takes to cultivate our unique potential and collective capabilities. Originally trained as an anthropologist, he has enjoyed a wildly diverse career trajectory and is currently the Director of Systems Leadership at the Banff Centre where he helps to develop and run programs for systems shapers and complexity leaders. He is also a faculty member at the University of Calgary's Haskayne School of Business where he teaches in the MBA program and co-chairs the Haskayne Adventure Leadership program which uses wilderness experience and transformative practice to cultivate advanced leadership capacities.

Julian's work is seasoned by a great love for the bardic traditions and a lifetime spent in wild landscapes. It has been deeply enriched by the privilege of living and working in Indigenous communities, honed through the ongoing practice of contemplative and somatic disciplines, and weathered by a lengthy apprenticeship to the complex mysteries of the human psyche and the living world. He takes inspiration from - and does his best to support - the practical dreamers, social artists and courageous leaders working to establish life-enhancing patterns of consciousness and culture in these turbulent times.
